Eight kinds of precious elements on Earth

Precious metals are rare metals available in a very limited supply. They include well-known gold, silver and platinum as well as lesser-known palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium – a total of only eight types of precious metals on Earth. Each has excellent properties and is used in various industries.

Platinum (Pt)

Heat resistant with a wide range of applications extending from catalysts to anticancer drugs, platinum is said to have untapped potential.

Palladium (Pd)

Palladium absorbs large amounts of hydrogen and is used to produce hydrogen for fuel cells, etc.

Ruthenium (Ru)

Ruthenium is used as a photocatalyst to generate hydrogen from water.

Gold (Au)

Soft and easy to process, gold is used to make ultra-fine electric wires in smartphones and protective membranes that shield spacecraft from infrared radiation.

Rhodium (Rh)

Extremely hard and resistant to melting, rhodium is used in electroplating to harden the surfaces of electronic components.

Osmium (Os)

Osmium is easily oxidized, making it useful in forensic investigations and biotechnology.

Silver (Ag)

Silver is highly reflective of visible light and used in mirrors. It also has excellent disinfecting and antibacterial properties.

Iridium (Ir)

Featuring excellent hardness and corrosion resistance, iridium is used in automotive spark plugs.

About

What are precious elements?

Precious elements are rare, naturally occurring metallic chemical elements of high economic value.

Here’s a breakdown of what that means:

  • They are found in limited quantities in the Earth’s crust, making them scarce.
  • Their scarcity, combined with their desirable properties, contributes to their high value.
  • They are used in various industries, investments, and have a long history as a store of value.
  • Often, precious elements are “noble” metals, meaning they are resistant to corrosion and oxidation.
  • They are typically ductile (easily shaped) and have a high lustre.

Our Products

Industrial Products

Bonding Wire

Bonding wire is used to connect the silicon chip semiconductors and external electrodes found in smartphones, PCs and other devices. One of the new supplier of bonding wire with processing facility in Sharjah freezone, we are contributing the ever-evolving world of semiconductors

Precious Metal Clad Materials

Precious metal clad materials are used in the micro-motors of such equipment as acoustics and imaging devices. Our materials are available as multi-layer or multi-strip tapes in a range of thicknesses that are highly configurable.

Fuel Cell Catalysts

Fuel cell catalysts have become the focus of attention in connection with fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) and home cogeneration power sources. With precious metal catalyst technology and electrochemical technology, both developed over long years, we are developing catalysts for future power generation systems.

Platinum has a significantly higher industrial demand than gold, particularly in catalytic converters for vehicles. This makes its price more susceptible to fluctuations in the automotive industry.

Platinum is rarer than gold, which can contribute to its higher price volatility.

Gold Accumulation Plans, in which gold can be purchased with a small amount of money, are products we are starting to sell in UAE and considering to expand into oversea markets based on the desire for gold to become a more familiar means of wealth accumulation.

Gold has industrial uses, but its main drivers are investment and jewellery.

Investment Strategy:

Gold is often seen as a safe-haven asset, particularly during times of economic uncertainty. Platinum’s price can be more influenced by economic growth and industrial activity. When considering investing in gold or platinum, it’s crucial to: Understand your investment goals and risk tolerance. Research the different types of asset products available. Consider factors that influence the price of each metal, such as supply and demand, economic conditions, and geopolitical events.
